What Our Guests Say

5-star reviews from our guests

"We lucked out and got a last minute reservation when visiting Kodachrome Basin State Park. Archie said he would swing by and was on the property within 5 minutes — he got us comfortable quickly and provided great service. Slept well; breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend."

"We had a fantastic stay at Happy Trails BnB!! They truly excelled in making us feel cared for with their hospitality. We stayed in the cottage which was well equipped with a kitchen, laundry, couch & large cozy king bed! This was our top favourite stay after a two week journey around Utah & Arizona!"

"The room was big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is made fresh for you in the morning — bacon, eggs, and pancakes with homemade syrup. The host sent our room code early via email. We will definitely stay again if we're near Bryce."

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers for planning your Bryce Canyon stay and Southern Utah adventure.

What are the best hikes at Bryce Canyon?
For first-time visitors, the Queen's Garden and Navajo Loop combination (2.9 miles) is the most popular choice. It combines rim views, hoodoos, and the dramatic Wall Street slot canyon. Mossy Cave is an easy family option outside the main entrance.
Can you ride ATVs inside Bryce Canyon National Park?
No. ATVs and UTVs are not permitted on national park trails. Off-road riding in the Bryce Canyon area takes place on designated routes outside the park, including areas of Dixie National Forest and Bryce Canyon Country.
Is Bryce Canyon open during winter?
Yes, Bryce Canyon National Park is open year-round. However, some roads, overlooks, and facilities may close temporarily after snowstorms. Check current conditions at nps.gov/brca before traveling in winter.
Where can I buy groceries near Bryce Canyon?
The best option for a full grocery run is Panguitch, about 30 minutes from Tropic. The Bryce Canyon General Store and Ruby's Inn General Store near the park entrance carry snacks and basic supplies but are not full grocery options.
Where can I go horseback riding at Bryce Canyon?
Canyon Trail Rides is the authorized concessioner for guided horseback and mule rides inside Bryce Canyon National Park. They operate 1.5–2 hour and 3-hour rides generally from April through October. Reservations are strongly recommended.
How many days should I spend at Bryce Canyon?
Two to three days gives you time to explore the park properly, take a horseback ride or off-road adventure, and do a scenic drive on Byway 12. One day is enough for the highlights if your time is limited.
What should I pack for Bryce Canyon?
Key items: 1+ liter of water per hour of hiking, sunscreen (SPF 50+), layers (temperature drops fast at 8,000+ ft), sturdy hiking shoes, a hat, electrolytes, trail snacks, and a red flashlight for stargazing.
Is Bryce Canyon good for families?
Yes. The Mossy Cave Trail, Rim Trail, Junior Ranger program, scenic overlooks, and wildlife watching are all family-friendly. Horseback riding is available for children who meet operator age and weight requirements.
